These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Starting Lineup service, which includes the website at startinglineup.co.uk and the Starting Lineup mobile app (together, "the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

Starting Lineup is a free tool that allows coaches to build and manage sports team lineups. You can arrange player positions on a virtual pitch, customise kit colours, and share or download your lineups. The Service is available as a website and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.

Your Use of the Service

You may use Starting Lineup for personal, non-commercial purposes such as organising your team's lineup. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, attempt to interfere with or disrupt its operation, or reverse-engineer or copy any part of the Service.

Data and Storage

Starting Lineup stores your lineup data locally on your device. On the website, this uses your browser's localStorage. On the mobile app, this uses on-device storage. In both cases, your data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers. There are no user accounts and no cloud sync.

When you use the Share feature, your lineup data is encoded directly into a link. Anyone with that link can view the lineup data it contains. We do not store shared lineups on our servers.

When you use the Import feature on the mobile app, the app reads a share link from your device's clipboard to load a lineup. Clipboard contents are only read when you explicitly tap the Import button.

When you use the Download feature, a PNG image of your lineup is generated on your device and saved or shared using your device's standard share sheet. The image is not uploaded to our servers.

Offline Use

The mobile app can be used offline. Lineup data is stored locally and does not require an internet connection to create, edit, or view lineups. An internet connection is only needed for sharing links or opening external pages.

Intellectual Property

All content, design, and code of Starting Lineup is owned by its creators. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without permission.

No Warranty

Starting Lineup is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Service will be available at all times, error-free, or that your data will be preserved. Use the Service at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Starting Lineup, including but not limited to loss of data.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
