Zoned Finishing

A repeating one against one to small goals, with a scoring zone rule. The front attacker dribbles out of his line and the front defender steps in off the other end, so it is live straight away. Go early and commit rather than slowing up and letting them set: attack the defender's leading foot and stay half turned. You cannot shoot until you have taken the ball across the restraining line into the zone, which is what stops it becoming a long range guess. If the defender wins it they can counter into the two goals behind the attacker, so the turnover is live both ways. Both players then rejoin the back of their own line and the next two step on.

Instructions

  • Go early and commit, do not let them set
  • Attack the defender's leading foot
  • Stay half turned, never square
