Shooting Sin Bin
A competitive shooting game for two teams, one goal and a goalkeeper. A player steps out and the server feeds two balls, one at a time, from behind the goal at about 15 to 18 yards: the first is a touch then a shot, the second is struck first time. Score none of the two and you go to the sin bin. Score one and you go to the back of your own queue. Score both and you choose: send an opposition player to the sin bin, or bring one of your own back out of it. The teams take turns, and a team wins when the other has no players left. 8 or more, two teams plus a goalkeeper, in a shooting zone about 15 to 18 yards from goal.
Instructions
- A player steps out; the server feeds two balls (one at a time) from behind the goal, about 15 to 18 yards out: (1) take a touch then shoot, (2) first time, no touch
- Score none of the two and you go to the sin bin. Score one and you go to the back of your own queue
- Score both and you choose: send an opposition player to the sin bin, or bring one of your own players back out of it
- Two teams take turns. A team wins when the other team has no players left (all in the sin bin)
- Shot one: a positive first touch out of your feet, then shoot, do not take too many touches
- Shot two: get your body set early so you can strike it first time, laces through the middle of the ball
- Check the keeper’s position before you shoot and pick your spot
Variation
- Move the shooting line out for older players, in for younger ones. Weak foot only, or alternate feet across the two shots. Serve shot two moving across the box, a cutback, to make first-time striking harder. Two keepers compete: whoever concedes fewer stays in goal.
