Warm-up · 13 seconds
Pass and Follow
A one-ball passing warm-up on a circle with a player in the middle. A player on the outside passes into the middle and then follows their pass and runs in; the player who was in the middle passes out to the next player on the circle and follows out to take their place. That player passes back in and follows in, and it keeps going: in to the middle, out to the circle, round and round, with everyone constantly swapping between the ring and the middle. The rule that makes it work is the simple one: always run after your own pass. As a warm-up, run it for a few minutes, then change the direction of the pass out, or add a second ball.
Instructions
- One ball. An outside player passes into the middle, then follows their pass and runs into the middle
- The middle player passes out to the next player on the circle, and follows out to take their place
- That player passes back in and follows in; keep it going, always follow your pass
- A continuous pass-and-follow: in to the middle, out to the circle, round and round
Variation
- There are no fixed roles, players flow between the ring and the middle by following their pass. Run it for a few minutes, then change the direction of the pass out, or add a second ball.
